Last updated: March 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Qwicut ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website at qwicut.com, the Qwicut macOS application, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. When you create or manage an account, we may collect identifiers such as your name, email address, and authentication details (for example, if you sign in with a third-party provider like Google).
- Usage and device data. We may collect information about how you interact with the Services, including app version, operating system, approximate location derived from IP address, crash logs, diagnostics, and feature usage. This helps us maintain, secure, and improve the Services.
- Content you submit. When you use writing features, text you select or submit may be processed to provide the requested output. Depending on how the product is configured, such content may be sent to our servers and/or third-party AI or infrastructure providers to generate results.
- Communications. If you contact us, we collect the information you provide (such as your email address and message content).
2. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services;
- Authenticate users, sync preferences across devices where offered, and provide support;
- Monitor and protect the security and integrity of the Services;
- Analyze usage in aggregate or de-identified form to understand product performance;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and policies;
- Communicate with you about updates, security notices, and (where permitted) marketing. You may opt out of promotional emails using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:
- Service providers. With vendors who assist us with hosting, analytics, customer support, email delivery, security, payments (if applicable), and AI or cloud processing, subject to contractual obligations to use data only as directed.
- Legal and safety. When we believe disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Qwicut, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to standard confidentiality arrangements.
- With your direction. When you integrate third-party services or otherwise consent to sharing.
4. Retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data and how it is used. You may request deletion of your account where applicable; some information may be retained where required by law or legitimate business needs (such as security logs).
5. Security
We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. International transfers
We may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for cross-border transfers.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information, or to object to certain processing or receive a portable copy. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your request before responding.
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete certain information, and the right to opt out of certain disclosures that qualify as "sale" or "sharing" under California law. We do not sell personal information for money. If we use analytics or advertising tools that constitute "sharing" under CCPA, we will provide a clear opt-out mechanism as required.
8. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated Policy on this page and revise the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice as appropriate.
